About the Artist: Elena Khomoutova was born in 1960 in Moscow, Russia. She has been painting from the early age of six. For five years she attended Moscow University where she studied Fine Arts. In 1992, Elena moved to Ottawa, where she still resides. Canada's natural beauty and the kindness of its people are often the inspiration behind Elena's paintings. Her paintings have a lot of symbolism in them. Each piece has 7 elements and an owl figure. Seven is for good luck and prosperity, and the owl represents the wisdom of love and oneness with God. This wisdom is hidden in every one of us, and this is why it remains hidden in the paintings. The shining luminous light in her painting represents spiritual enlightenment.
